The design elements are really what make these dishes special. Each silver piece is uniquely its own, and shows off the craftsmanship in each etched scroll. Sheffield Silver includes a wide variety of dishware from tea kettles, serving platters, flatware, candelabras, mounted glass and so much more. The mounted glass is some of the most impressive, as it weaves together beautiful glass sconces with silver handles, pouring guides, bases, and other laced embellishments. As the glass seems gleams in the light, the silver adds a timeless touch to any of the claret jugs. The silver was also often formed into rolling scrolls, fierce animals, or lush flowers to add something unique to each individual piece.

Burnished Sheffield Silver

Sheffield Silver is also burnished silver. This allows for the finished product to have high shine and be easily polished. This process also allows for imperfections in the metal to be hidden through the extensive sanding and polishing process each dish went through during manufacturing. A final touch on each one of these pieces is the final polishing with bloodstone. Polishing the Sheffield Silver with such an element allowed for the surface to have a flawless texture and was not easily tarnished. For this reason, many Sheffield Silver piece still look brand new even today.
